The blog ~ Art in Collecting
The blog ~ Art in Collecting
I have been buying art books and works of art all my life.
Fifteen years ago I realized that to be a real collector I have to learn to discriminate. I started a publishing company, "New York School Press" to provide comprehensive documentation of artists' participation in the New York Painting and Sculpture Annuals including the 9th St. Art Exhibition.
My permanent question is: "How to go about collecting?" I have difficulty to separate the work from its creator. Sometimes I buy a work because I like the artist. Please contribute to this blog freely from your heart.
